Profession:
Profession typically require a significant period of theoretical, hands-on and practical experience in the respective field of expertise
Regulated Professions: Professions / Occupations that are regulated either by the provinces or by professional associations are generally regulated because they have a higher level of responsibility either for public health and safety or to protect consumers / clients. These professions need a licence or certificate to work in that profession.
In many of these professions it is illegal to work or even use the title of the profession if you are not registered with the regulatory body
In Canada, professions and trades are regulated in each province. There are regulatory bodies - organizations that control licences and certificates - in each province. Some of these regulated professions include: Engineers, Architects, Nurses, Teachers, Dentists, and Pharmacist etc.

A high quality of work morale and motivation

Professionalism
How you look;
How you talk;
How you write;
How you act & react;
How you work -
- these all determine whether you are a professional or not
However Professionalism isn't just a set of appearances, neatness, good grooming and nice talk. Nor is it just technical skill and good work; Professionalism is, rather, a set of internalized character strengths, attitude and values directed toward high quality service to the society and others through one's work.
Professionals' work is, among other things, a statement of their personal commitment to excellence of performance, rather than just working for a job to be done or merely a source of earning money.
The greater the degree to which a person exemplifies professionalism, the easier it will be for him to be set apart from people around him.
Professionalism is behaving in an ethical manner while assuming and fulfilling the rightful responsibilities in every situation every time, without fail.
